Life in Victoria's world...

So this is a site about what is going on with me! Easier to catch up with me like this rather than tracking me down on my mobile, or waiting for me to call! If you do want to contact me when you're looking at my site, to the right hand side of the screen you should be able to see a 'contact me now!' link, just click on that and it should bring up an email window so you can mail me at my personal and travel email address.
So what's been going on?? This week has gone a bit slow even though it has been a short one. The move on the weekend went well though and the new place is excellent, Summah is happy, it's huge, cheaper than where I was and there is no bond to pay. Thanks have to go to Aaron/Marie and Yvette/Paul - I wouldn't have been able to do it without them! We enjoyed a BBQ after moving everything on the Saturday, and then I spent the rest of the weekend sorting out my things and putting them away in their new places. So I am pretty much settled now, although I am going to paint my room blue this weekend so disaray will ensue! But once that is done I can put up my pictures and posters and relax in my own space for the next 6 or so months. Coz soon - before you know it - I will be off and far away to places new!
First stop Vietnam and I will be buying my ticket the 3rd week of Feb. I'll let you all know the date I leave when I do. I put my back pack on lay-by today, it's a 55 litre, got a zip on day pack and pockets all over the place as well as access from the bottom. Ideal I think for what I am wanting to do. I may need to buy another one while I am away as I plan to do a bit of shopping through Asia, but I can send things back too.. Apparently it doesn't cost that much.
I have spoken to my imediate boss about going, she was a little shocked as I have only been here for about 4 months, but she is going to help me organise to see some of the projects we sponsor in Vietnam and close by, so hopefully that will stand me in good stead to get some charity type work when I get to Europe - there are a few of our Oxfam branches there so I may even be able to set something up before I go. Will have to see closer to the time. I'll need to check out work visas for there soon too.
Anyway getting back to talking to my boss about going, she said that they are really happy with my work and all that sort of stuff and that if there is a possition available when I get back that she would employ me again 'in a flash', so that is nice to know, definitely ask her for a reference before I leave!!
My court date is the same week that I buy my ticket for Vietnam. I have handed in the last of the paper work, paid everything that needs to be paid. So now it is just a matter of getting dressed nice and going in on the 19th to do my court appearance thing, answer a few questions and get my decree nisi, then the absolute, not vodka, although that may well be involved in a spontaneous celebration when the decree absolute comes in the mail!
Friends have been leaving to go back to their home countries which has been really sad and I miss a few of them terribly, but I will be seeing them again soon, plus it's some places to stay and people to go out with when I get to Europe! Will definitely have to stop in at Scotland now even if it's just for a short while! Plus visit Mark in England.
So for now that is what is up with me... Hope you are all well, contact me NOW! if you want to let me know what you're up to! Love to you all.
